Workshops:

• JOURNALING YOUR LIFE: Journaling, keeping a diary, blogging—whatever you call it—can be a magical way to keep in touch with the real you. The author will share excerpts from her middle and high school journals, and how she slipped “real life” people into her own stories.
• WRITE TIGHT: What does this mean? How can you hook your readers from the very first sentence? What is the difference between “showing” and “telling”? What are dialogue tags? Tips on how to write a fast-paced, engaging story.
• ROCKY ROAD—A Personal Journey: Explore the author’s own journey from “writing for fun” to successful publication. Is it as simple as writing down a story and sending it to a publisher? It’s more complicated than you think, more work than you can imagine—but not impossible!
